Hey everyone (all zero of the people who read this)...I think that my opinions on current events cannot be trusted out there in the real world, since I am really just a kind of ill-informed student with strong, not necessarily well-researched opinions...so I decided to change the goal of my blog.
For my last birthday, one of my very good friends gave me a little moleskin notebook, and I can't resist the blank canvas of a new journal, so I just had to come up with a theme for it and start writing right away. I decided on a quote/thought book, where I right down inspirational or funny quotes that I want to remember...and my own thoughts or questions. Right now I am finishing up Sophie's World by Jostein Gaarder, and so I have had lots of philosophical questions. Right now, more immediately, I am at work, so I can't remember everything that I put in that book so far, but I will choose a few select excerpts off the top of my head:
As the typical girl, I have had my struggles with body image, but I found this poster particularly inspirational that said "Be You (tiful)." In case you don't get it, you are beautiful if you are yourself. True life.
Another question I had while reading Sophie's World is what if everything that exists is a figment of my imagination? Or I am a figment of someone else's imagination? Does it matter? My thinking is that if I am not real, and I act like it, not caring what I do or what happens as a result, that's okay. BUT if I am real and my world is real and I act like it's not...well, that could cause major problems in my and others' lives. Please comment with your thoughts! I like discussion more than just seeing my words published, believe it or not...
